Heather began her martial arts training at the age of Nine when
she attended a class in the Chinese Martial Art of Chan Chan Soo, this only
lasted for a short time as she was beckoned to follow her other interest in
drama.
In 1995 at the age of 22 she had just finished studying a one year
course of drama in Edinburgh and decided it was time to begin my other passion
for martial arts. She had always wanted to study martial arts but had always been busy with
drama. Heather
began with a ladies self defense class which lasted for about a year and led on
to full classes in Tang Soo Do.
One year later in August 1996 Heather was flying off to Las Vegas to
compete in the World Tang Soo Do Championships.
September of that year Heather left her home town of Forres to start a
three year Degree in Drama at Northumbria University. This was a hard decision
as she would be leaving her Tang Soo Do club behind. Fortunately just outside
Newcastle there was a Tang Soo Do club and the members of this club became my
family for the next three years.
